Roadmap¶
Neptoon's 1.x release line concentrates on robust stationary and roving CRNS processing. The roadmap is directional; active issues and merge requests remain the authoritative source for scheduled work.
Stability¶
- Expand integration and numerical-regression coverage across representative stations.
- Reduce complexity in the largest configuration, ingestion, and workflow modules.
- Strengthen type checking, documentation validation, and supported-version matrices.
- Stabilise public APIs, configuration aliases, output schemas, and migration guidance.
- Continue GUI reliability and usability work while keeping CLI/YAML workflows reproducible.
Operations and services¶
- Improve unattended and scheduled processing patterns around the existing Docker image.
- Explore a supported service/API deployment model for automated station updates.
- Extend provenance, monitoring, and failure reporting for operational networks.
Scientific and data integrations¶
- Evaluate additional environmental products such as SoilGrids and Earth Engine sources.
- Extend provider coverage and cache/provenance handling where public services allow it.
- Continue calibration, uncertainty, filtering, and cross-sensor comparison research.
Roving CRNS¶
Mobile (roving) CRNS processing is part of Neptoon; see the roving guide. Further roving work is tracked in the issues and merge requests.
